Aquaponics is one of the most sustainable and productive farming systems in the world! It combines Aquaculture and Hydroponics to create a truly self-sufficient closed loop system that uses only a fraction of water, labor, energy, etc. that other methods use!
When combining Permaculture Design with Aquaponics an even more sustainable, dynamic, regenerative and productive system emerges!
This Aquaponics Training from August 25-28, 2010, includes meals, four full days of classroom instruction with additional hands-on instruction and experience at our Aquaponics mini-farm located on the Ukiah High School campus. You will learn everything you need to know to build and operate Aquaponic systems of any size and how to run your Aquaponics business. You will have all your questions answered, and our trainers will make sure you understand every detail completely.
This valuable information is a combination of skills, knowledge and first hand experience gained from several professionals operating Aquaponic farms, projects and training centers.
Because of the way we design and build our systems for electrical economy and sustainability, they use from one-half to one-tenth of the electricity other systems do. This saves thousands of dollars per year (more, as the systems grow in size). Our newest generation systems run of solar electricity, solar water and air heating with methane gas being produced as a back up energy source. We'll show you how to do this.
We will show you how to build your own hatchery for under $2,500. Others have spent over $40,000 on their own hatcheries of similar size and styles, these and other experiences have helped us to discover how to build this simple and productive integrated hatchery system!
The Commercial Aquaponics Training materials include: our step-by-step construction manual with variations and site specific applications that make it easy for anyone to build a system; a set of detailed plans for two systems, including site plans and piping schematics; an "Aquaponics course manual covering all aspects of Aquaponics, including day-to-day operation of the system, and an operations manual with checklist containing field tested maintenance, monitoring and trouble shooting of challenges you may encounter in your commercial Aquaponics system. There are complete designs, plans and materials lists included!
